Professional Massage Therapy

About Me

Hi! My name is Taylor Tillinghast and I am a Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and Certified Massage Therapist. I am extremely passionate about helping individuals reduce and eliminate their pain so that they can improve their quality of life.

My healing career began while I was a student at Cal Poly, studying Kinesiology. I began working on the Cal Poly men's soccer team, and their massage guru, Brian Dorfman, took me under his wing. During this time, I got extensive hands on experience working with the men's soccer team, as well as other student athletes. Although I enjoyed doing manual therapy and stretching with the athletes, I wanted to learn more about how to protect these athletes from getting injured in the first place. I then got certified as a personal trainer through NASM, and once I graduated with my B.S. in Kinesiology I started working as a personal trainer. I quickly found my niche in working with injuries and training individuals with chronic pain and postural issues. Once I realized this was my passion, I got certified in Corrective Exercise. After working as a corrective exercise specialist for over a year, I found I still needed more knowledge and training in the field of massage therapy, so that I could better help my clients. I then ended up at the National Holistic Institute, where I learned a multitude of different massage therapy modalities, as well as the assessment tools required to provide the specific modality needed to address each individual's specific issues. My goal is to help everyone who comes through my door learn about their own body and provide them with the knowledge and tools needed to improve their life. By combining corrective exercise and massage therapy, I am able to correct individual's movement compensations so that they are no longer suffering from chronic pain and can enjoy living again.

I aspire to be a ray of sunshine in my clients day, and not only help them physically, but mentally as well. I myself suffer from back pain and multiple autoimmune disorders, so I understand that on the bad days it can be quite a struggle to just get through the day. I know the strength and determination it takes to not only make it through the day, but to take positive steps towards correcting your underlying issues. When you are ready to take this step I will be here to assist you in your journey to feeling and living a better life.
